The first chapter of Spanish 1B, Capitulo Puente, links the two books, with a review that refreshes the language skills that the students have already learned with plenty of reading and writing practice. As in 1A, 1B uses technological resources to promote learning and is a continuation of the vocabulary, grammar, speaking and writing of 1A.
This course will focus on light, sound,gas laws, atmosphere, weather, forces, simple machines, and aerodynamics. The biological components of this year will include nervous system (emphasis on the ear and eye), respiratory system, muscular system.
Humanities - Cycle 2 is an interdisciplinary course involving history, English, grammar, art, current events, and more. We will examine U.S. History from the Civil War to the present, and this will be the starting point for the other topics we touch upon.
Spanish 1A introduces students to the Spanish-speaking world with a balance of grammar and vocabulary in every lesson. There are reviews before major assessments. Students are expected to use the language in conversation and write weekly emails to the teacher.
This class is designed to develop life and leadership skills in its participants. It meets during Morning Meeting and at other times throughout the week.
Writing is a strictly on-line course that all USL students take, and it is designed to increase each student's proficiency in crafting and revising responses to a variety of prompts.
